Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Nauman Bashir has said that Pakistan's Armed Forces are fully capable to face any challenge, if imposed in Air, Lands or Seas. Addressing to Passing Out Parade at Pakistan Air Force Academy Riaslpur Thursday morning, Naval Chief said that PAF has been playing a critical role in operations with Army and Navy that shows PAF's commitment and professionally competent. He further said that through induction of JF-17 Thunder aircraft, Airborne Early Warning and Control System 'Saab-2000', Air-to- Air-refuelling mechanism and Block-52 F-16 fighters have further enhanced brilliance and defence system of PAF. Congratulating the graduating cadets, Admiral Nauman said that they could rightly be proud of inheriting a great legacy of personal courage, self devotion, sacrifice and professionalism set forth by their illustrious predecessors. "You will also be tested in similar demanding circumstances and only can only succeed by upholding the virtues of team work, discipline and professionalism", he added. During the event, which was also attended by Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Admiral Nauman Bashir reviewed the parade and presented Quaid-i-Azam Banner to No. 4 Squadron, the new champion squadron. This was followed by award of Flying Badges and Branch Insignias to graduating officers and aviation cadets. The impressive moment was the award of trophies, in which Pilot Officer Osama Sharif Ghani solely was awarded all three prizes for being best performance in flying; Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee's Trophy for best in general service training in flying college, Chief of the Air Staff Trophy for Best in Flying Training and Sword of Honour for over all best performance in flying training. Audience gave a big hand on his marvellous achievements during the training. Pilot Officer Adnan Hanif received Sword of Honour for over all best in Aeronautical Engineering. Significant event of the ceremony was colourful display by "'Sherdils' Formation" of K-8 aircraft. For the first time in the history of PAF Academy, K-8 aircraft performed formation aerobatics using nine aircraft, leaving the audience spell bound. At the end of the ceremony, aviation cadets of the academy displayed aerobatics on Para Motor Gliders.
