In some parts of the world, a business card is considered an extension of a person. Etiquette coach Syndi Seid goes over the do's and don'ts of presenting and receiving a card.

  • "Its like sitting on a persons face"

    hahahahaha

  • Please remember that even in the US business cards are seen as an extension of a person and if you carelessly cram it into you back pocket and mangle it then it gives the impression that you don't care what they think of you, and therefore have no respect for them or the postion that they hold or the company that they represent.

So you may not actually be "sitting on their face", but you will come across as being crass and a slob.

So even though this is very formal, it's not silly.

  • @ns88ster some people like it so maybe its not a bad thing after all, LOL!

  • Muslims use their left hand to wash their anal.

  • I don't mean to sound disrespectful but could someone please explain why handing someone of the Muslim religion something with your left hand is an insult? I'm just interested because Ive never heard that before and I hope I haven't insulted someone on accident- Such a simple thing taken as an insult really makes you open your eyes !

  • awesome work =)) good job keep it up!

  • shit bruv, lost your face. can i get a new card?

  • @gohpenghng1

Lol, I'll remember to do that to my competitor !

  • step 1:grab card and talk about it and suddenly...

    step 2 :crush it

step 3:look at him with a I PWN YOU NOOB face

  • Thumbs up if you watched this because of the card crusher.

  • Is this woman Asian? Why does she say "they" when referring to Asians? I'm Japanese and I don't like non Japanese messing up our customs.

  • Well, I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but I'm not sure that I believe that the subject matter relates as "international protocol." I live in America, and if I ever perceived someone to have taken insult to my treatment of a piece of paper (sized and of a more durable card stock, specifically made for placement in a wallet, I might add), I would have to call their sanity into question.

As far as how it is perceived in certain Asian countries, I bow before the poster's wisdom.
