  • Antisemitism is mostly brought upon by the Jews themselves.

Always blaming the Church, particularly the Catholic Church.

You should read more history; the Protestants teach more Antisemitism, while "loving Israel"; and if you think the Christian world is "out to get the Jew," just wait until Communism begins to rise, because their hatred for Jews matches the Nazis-

Islam will cut your heads off; while you still cling to YOUR ANTI-CATHOLICISM-

That is just as ignorant as Antisemi

    tism!!

  • anti-semitism has existed in many different forms at many different times.

i don't think you can dispute the influence the catholic church had on certain acts (the expulsion of the jews from spain under ferdinand and isabela), but it's true the german protestant antisemitism was often just as bad.

the relationship between judaism and established christianity has improved much, but don't forget the mistrust caused by the willing participation of many christians in the holocaust.

  • Eisenstein was too a Jew; There were noble Jews and not so noble Jews. Remember, the early Bolshevik murderers were Jews. But that does not mean all Jews are Evil. Just as Mafiosos are Italians.

    Not all Italians are Mafiosos.

The Jewish issue in Russia was brutal. The Ignorance on the part of many bigotted Russians against Jews, and those Jews who wanted to excise Vengeance on Russians.

Jews "worked" the communist system, and backstabbing one another became standard operating prccedure.

  • hmm, poitrenaud you appear to have missed the point. the appropriation of this scene was not meant to be an indictment against "evil jews" or "Bolshevik murderers", though i now see how it could be read that way.

though the original intent was just to show anachronistic humor in outdated prejudices, your point opens up debate on the multiple other meanings that can be inferred from this one scene.

    Long Live PAMYAT

    Monarchy in Russia

  • I want to keep this respectful. First and foremost, I grew up Catholic, in France--and antisemitism was not taught in our Schools at all.

The AntiSemitism was as a direct consequence of the Jew, typically, falling short of what we Native French perceived as Patriotism; simply put: that the Jew typically used the host country only as a means to advance themselves, as a race, as a people. And that "France" was just another Goyim country; until the sap the resources dry.

    Much is true. Some not.

  • Antisemitism in France has a long history. In the Middle Ages Jews were restricted to ghettos, barred from most professions, lynched by mobs, and sometimes expelled by force, just as in other parts of Europe. Until the Nazis seized power, France may have had a worse reputation for antisemitism than Germany, partly due to the influence of the Catholic Church. The Dreyfus affair scandalized the western world. During Nazi occupation, many of the French worked as willing collaborators.

  • Thanks-You are quite intelligent. I yield to your experience.

We here in America have a lop-sided view of what and "because" with regard to the Jews. Some is historical; some, with a spin-and some, just plain bigoted.

In France, the people are not intrinsically antisemitic; although many Jew think so.

The "big" antisemitism in France stemmed from their adherence to Communism after WW2-

Jews, for the most part, lived in security in France, to prosper, fail.

    Thanks, again-
