We were picked as one of the 31 Scariest Home Haunts in the United States by FearNet.com. This was the episode they shot of us in September 2007. It aired worldwide online October 8th 2007.
I paid $100 for the fake blade and another $130 for the chainsaw. I know it's a lot, but I only use it once a year and it really is the ultimate Halloween prop.
You must be a big fan to have seen this a million times. I' would yawn too if I saw it that many times and I created the Haunt. But seriously, Thanks for the support!
The Chainsaw motor is Real - The long blade was purchased online at a special effects company. It connects into the chainsaw with a long metal rod. The whole blade part is heavy duty latex rubber. The whole saw weighs about 8 or 9 pounds. By the end of the night I'm exhausted. But, it's a ton of fun and everyone has a blast!
