As an FYI, I had taken the original video that Mark gave me and slowed it down and highlighted Mark in some of the previous video. For those who don't know Mark actually lost the battle with cancer on December 20, 2009 and I posted this earlier in the year when we got the news of this... glad to hear that so many people have a connection to the band... my connection is only in his later years in that he married my sister who loved him beyond imagination as well as the rest of the family and friends. He will be missed by many!!!

  • I was Buddy Blue's trumpet player and horn arranger so I knew the Farmers personnel as well ( I'm on their "Mexicali Nights" track). As an instrumental music teacher for the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District during that time, I would often see Joey at Lemon Avenue School walking through the auditorium picking up his son after school, as I rehearsed my 5th grade band students. Three degrees of separation in the music biz!

  • @inigoes If you would like a copy of the vinyl in MP3 form, PM me. :)

  • "You Never Call" is one of the greatest power pop songs ever. Hell, the Speedsters LP is one of the best power pop albums to have never been known. Great band lineup, too. I have the vinyl, but I wish it was released digitally. Maybe one day. Thanks for posting the video - hadn't seen it in years. I remember seeing it on MTV one night and thinking, "How cool. San Diego boy on MTV!"

  • @flamingdeath999 I was the lead singer for the Monroes from SD and i always liked your great uncle Mark, he was a very good man.

    RIP

  • My great-uncle was the drummer for this band... R.I.P Uncle Mark!

  • Probably one of the best bands that San Diego ever had. I was a "young" radio disc jockey at the time, and conducted a live interview with Joey and some other local musicians. Five of us cramped in a small booth, talking, playing his then newly released album, smoking, and drinking champagne. I doubt Joey remember it, but I still have the entire interview on reel-to-reel tape! Thanks Joey, Duke Wesley AKA Denny West, KGCR Radio, Grossmont College

  • Great video, thanks! I love your great uncle's music!

I used to watch Joey play on the front yard of his parent's house in Coronado on the 4th of July! That was a LONG time ago, but still so fresh in my mind, especially after seeing this!! /Pat, formally Larkin

  • I was around during this time...danced so many times to this song...Spirit Club, Belly Up, Mom's...I was there lovin' these guys sooooo much! I have this album...it's kinda worn out tho!

  • Joey Harris! Greatest rock and rolla you never heard of!!!

  • Oh hell yeah!
