This multi-touch screen is one of the exhibits at Wired NextFest 2007. There are two very wide (around 16 foot wide) LCD screen. You can drag and move object like the scene in the Minority Report. When I draw a circle on the screen, it displays a menu and additional functions. The response is quick. The on-screen keyboard is good and responsive too.
P.S. This is not Microsoft Surface. It's from another company.
How much would something like that cost?

Jeffs group has been doing a great job with larger workgroup oriented Multi-Touch walls. I hope to see smaller individual multi-touch devices. This would require a more adaptive system that can be scaled for use on a variety of display sizes. You can see all my Multi-Touch concept videos at my channel: thenewtouch

Yes, it actually is.
I was thinking the same thing, and i dont see the foolishness about it, as a persons cultural experience rarely is object for debate. Enlighten me :)

You still are the clear fool
wrong on all accounts about me, but I suppose that "geek bashing" is the best you can retort with.
I however still am correct in my appraisal of your comment.

In light of the fact that you spent time to respond to my "foolish" statement, I do wonder who is the more foolish, you snippy s.o.b.. Wash your hair, take a bath and get out of your mother's basement. I suppose a Star Trek comment would have met your approval? Get stuffed.

Anywho, this like MS Surface are pretty, but likely impractical. Do these people seriously think that consumers want to stand and touch a freakin wall to use their computer? Even a sit-down model, after the novelty wears off, your left with a computer that you have to wash the fingerprints off the screen every 5 minutes. More chick one-button technology for the ipod generation. ubermeh

What a foolish comment, how did you get 2 mod points? Matrix II? A cliche scifi element used in that unoriginal dated uninspired sequel is your comparison?

This reminds me of "The Matrix II: Reloaded". During the redocking of the Neb, Control (inside the construct) was using this same concept--an interactive touchscreen interface. Three words "I want one." But if I have to sell both arms to buy one, it wouldn't do me much good, now would it? :) Peace.
