The song is about how children of this generation are being influenced by Violence in music/TV/Games. Lupe is also using his past views of Chicago as well seeing that murder is happening daily there.

@fasdffa1 A lot of the song, in my opinion, is about how violent video games desensitize kids to war. He switches back and forth between the perspective of these game through the child and his own views. One of my favorite Lupe songs. if you watch Lupe do his interview with John Stewart, you can see how much of a pacifist he really is and he opposes violence of all kind. Just my perspective tho. I know you posted this a while ago so sorry if I came off as kind of rude. Not my intent.
