  • Saugeile Sounds, wie immer bei Retrosound, und ein nettes Demo dazu :-)

  • @1971beethoven :)) vielen dank

  • I know of a Pink Floyd cover band which uses the Nord Modular. Sounds pretty good. How do you think MWII would rate for this purpose? Also sounds pretty good that way. I'm talking Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Sheep, parts from the The Wall, One Slip, Wearing the Inside Out, etc. How would you compare these two synths for this purpose? In the studio I use a Yamaha EX7, Kurzweil K2000, Alesis Ion, Kawai K5K and Yamaha CP30 besides.

  • @brofjw

the microwave sound is unique. the wavetable sounds are fantastic for nice pads or atmospheric sounds. the nord modular is a modular monster, very flexible but the sound is different to the MW2

  • Great patches. What is / are the wavetable(s) on corona because if have tried to remake that sound with vst, but result is not good?

  • Wave Trip 3

  • Thanks Retro & EvilDoc! I actually sold that MWII awhile ago already. I simply had to, but I did like the sound. I'm still very happy with my Kawai K5K. I find that while it's definately not a VA, it can do some beautiful and amazing sounds which are similar to VA's. I always have a number of ideas of how my setup coukd eventually go. Sometimes I think of putting a Blofeld (keyboard) on top a Hammond XK-1, maybe a Roland XV5080 on the side MIDI'd to both... and calling it a day.

  • @brofjw I had the Nord Micro Modular. It did everything it was supposed to but the sound was so utterly sterile it offered nothing.

I've had a Waldorf Microwave (the original with the analogue filters) and with the access programmer. My god I regret selling that more than I can begin to put into words!

The Microwave II would offer way more in terms of sound depth / 'feel' than the Nord, although the Nord offers more flexibility and customisation.

Personally - go for a Waldorf or Novation Nova

  • Gorgeous.

  • There should be a MW vs D-50 test...

  • wowowowowowowow...beautiful sound..y love pad.
