OMG PLEEAASE tell me that remake isn't real!

Phantom of the Paradise is the film which should have got the cult following that accidentally went to Rocky Horror instead. Where POTP is an original piece of work, with amazing music, a better story than RHPS, and often seen as a better film, RHPS is a flawed film version of a successful, superior play. It omits certain songs and it took the "audience participation" aspect to fill in the gaps. The legend is greater than the film itself. POTP can be viewed without all the gimmicks.

Phantom of the Paradise and Rocky Horror had a 'SURREALIST' feel to it. THAT is the ONLY similarity the two share. Phantom had Faust, Dorian Gray and Phantom of the Opera. Multi-layered.

awesome review man. more people need to see the movie. i think the music is awesome and you were spot on when you said "Gerrit Graham is awesome" because he really is. hes actually an underrated actor. and who could forget the greatness of swan.
