Nigel Farage gets Speaker Bercow worried (07Mar10)

UKIP's Nigel Farage is the main front runner in House of Commons Speaker Bercow's constituency seat. Traditionally the seat of the Speaker of the House of Commons is not opposed in a general election, but as New Labour have thrown out the history and rule books for everything else, so too will Nigel Farage with his challenge of Bercow's seat.

John Bercow is starting to get a bit worried, with old Conservative MP Lord Tebbit telling people they don't have to vote Conservative, ie. they don't have to vote for Bercow.

This is one seat that the Conservatives WILL loose at the general election, and parliament will be better off for Nigel Farage being in the HoC.

Although I have nothing against Bercow personally, he is an expenses-fiddling demagogue who is devoid of conviction.

People are not angered by the fact that Bercow's views have changed, but by the way in which this happened. Even before the resignation of Michael Martin, he had long since harboured a desire to become Speaker and shifted his political allegiance in order to achieve this.
