The 43rd Australian parliament officially opens tomorrow and the Gillard government will need the support of independents to pass every piece of law.

@irishgodfatherchris Gillard also sucked up to Wilkie on pokies reform, and Adam Bandt and Bob Brown on the carbon tax. She only got power because of independants selling out.

@irishgodfatherchris It's the seats that count though. The seats were even at the end of the election, with 72 a piece. ALP only got to required 76 because Windsor and Oakeshott betrayed their constituents. They come from conservative seats. The lure of power and fame was just to overwhelming.

@Mischelle999 Just remember that more people voted for Abbott at the 2010 election. Labor only got into power because two men, from Conservative electorates, portrayed their voters to side with Gillard. So if your rant is to be believed, over half of Australian voters are "bimbos." Are you even old enough to vote?

@Mischelle999 Rinehart did not hire Bolt. She might have a stake in Ten, but she isn't the boss. Bolt himself says that he was hired by Lachlan Murdoch. If you think Ten is right wing you should watch 7PM Project. Ten also hired the left wing George Negus to host the now defunct 6:30 with George Negus. They aren't right wing at all.
