Examining Exodus 3:13-15 from an Ancient Hebrew perspective. Within this passage is the phrase אהיה אשר אהיה (ehyeh asher ehyeh - I am who I am) and the two names Elohiym gives Mosheh (Moses), אהיה (ehyeh) and יהוה (yhwh). These two names, related to the phrase אהיה אשר אהיה, have a meaning and pronunciation that is often overlooked.

One point that I should have made in the video and didn't, is that the pronunciation I provide in this video for YHWH is based on the traditional pronunciation of the Hebrew language. While I follow the traditional pronunciation of Hebrew, there is no way one can prove that this pronunciation preserves the original. However, my point in the video is that the emphasis should not be on the actual pronunciation, but on the "character" of the name.

  • No! Our true God name is not I Am who I Am. Please show me one passage in the bible where people called God, I Am??

Exo 3:15 "God also said to Moses, "Say to the Israelites, 'The LORD(Yahweh), the God of your fathers--the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob--has sent me to you.' This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation."

Yahweh is his name forever. ALL generations to remember that his name is Yahweh.

  • @tiger23800 How about where God himself called himself "I Am." Gen 3:14 - ויאמר אלהים אל משה... איהיה שלחני אליכם. "And God said to Moses... 'I Am' sent me to you."

  • @ancienthebreworg

First, God didn't call himself I Am in Gen 3:14. Second, God wasn't calling himself I Am in Exo 3:14. He was referring to "I Am the God of your fathers...".

Exo 6:3 "and I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty; but by my name Yahweh I was not known to them."

If you read that closely, God literally said that his name is Yahweh, not "I Am" or "I Am that I Am". But show me where God said that his name is "I Am".

  • @tiger23800 While I wrote "Gen 3:14" above, I meant "Exo 3:14." In that verse, how do you interpret the "I am" when God tells Moses to say to the people - "I am sent me to you?"

  • I believe that all what comes from god is the same in all ,in torah,in Zabur,in bible, and in Quran,as I believe that Hebrew and Arabic language is the same language,

    So

    (Alohim) = اللهم = אלוהים

    (Allah) = الله = אלוה

    (Yahweh) = ياهو = יהוה

(I Am that I Am ) = هو من هو (لاإله إلا هو) = אהיה אשר אהיה

  • good study brother.i have a question though.i'm a historian and i study archeaology becouse of this i hve heard poeple other then jws that say his name as ya-hoo.with thw waw as the u or oo sound.and most lingugist archeaologist such as gabrial barkay and others say that it is either waw or oo in paleo.and that in medan it was said ya-hoo so would ya-hoo-ah not be a close paleo pronounceation?

  • יהעה =)

  • People call them "pauline Christians" I think they are more like "Constantine Christians". See thes scriptures and you will know what I mean: acts 24:5 7 look at Paul's response in verse 14. I said 'I get it now, if Paul was a follower of THE WAY, then some of his words must have been tampered with. see also isaiah 40:3. I noticed that many are trying to debate anh.org, but if you like a preschooler, learn to put these words together as they are in the original you would agree with him.

  • @davegooley

I'm really not big on how to pronounce it but to recognize it.

People saying that God true name is "I Am/I Am that I Am" but no where God said his name is "I Am" and nowhere in the bible people called him "I Am".

People also claim that Jesus is also the Great I Am because of John 8:58. But they are greatly confused about that also.

  • @tiger23800 Here is another wrench in the cogs. The yood and heh combination can be pronounced with yah, yeh, or yih and the vav and heh combination can be pronounced with wah or weh. Don't be so militant on the pronunciation of the Almighty Creator's name since the Messiah will make everything known with clarity when He establishes His 1,000 year reign.

  • ....

Exodus 15:3 "Yahweh is a man of war. Yahweh is his name."

Where is "I Am is a man of war. I Am is his name"?
