www.ClassicalTV.com Thomas Hampson, world famous baritone, serenaded Washington's A list on 29th April including , George H W Bush (1989-1993), Obama's National Security Advisor James Jones, Colin Powell and others. Here is a compilation of "Bring Him Home", "The Boatman's Dance", "Lindenbaum" and "Shenandoah".
Hampson is a superb singer in his fach. It does not, however, include most of the Verdi roles that he has lately been singing. His high, beautiful lyric baritone is simply too light for first-rate work in most of that repetoire. I grant him Germont, but not Boccanegra, nor Posa. And PLEASE tell me that Hampson hasn't and will not sing Amonasro --
