(Watch in HQ, if you wish)
I decided to start a series of videos in which I show you the "secrets" of my neon & blacklight combinations. In this video, I don't cover my painting techniques, but rather, something I discovered about certain clear colored parts that come with certain Gundam models. Enjoy! ^_^

  • yes the MG Unicorn gundam has a glowing Psychoframe under black light, not too long from now were getting an MG Unicorn Full Armor Mode, i dont know if that will glow or not, as it has Dark Green psychoframe not Pink, both of em are clear parts, it MAY glow under black light as i saw some pics of a conventio detailing many new MG kits and one or 2 pics looked like lit up FA Unicorn, could be LED or Black Light, but damn about the yellow clear colors, was hoping my Sinanju MG would light up

  • @Lavos2007

Yes, it's a bummer about those yellow parts.

I've seen the images too, and I can almost guarentee that the green FA Unicorn's psycho frame will glow under blacklight.

Even so, I'm not sure I'd get it anyway; got a ton of other kits backlogged, and not a lot of room for new ones.

    Anyway, thanks for watching!

  • All this time I use blacklight just for charging the glow in the dark feature of my figure, etc. I've been played blacklight for my Eva Revoltech and didn't realize that but now because of you I do. It give me more inspiration and idea..

    Thanks for your nice share..

    I see...

And now that you mention it, I think the same thing happens to some degree with colorless clear parts too; they seem to cloud up a bit, which almost happend with my MG Wing's chest jewel.

    Anyway, thanks for the warning.

  • @crapmunky99 I think there is a special coating on the glow-in-the-dark resin part and it is reactive to every thinner you can throw at. The reaction is very mild but enough to dull the surface so I ended up airbrushing the psycho frame with neon red then use white for panel line. In any case, I will look for the term "集光樹脂" from now on.

  • @mangajin1970

I wasn't aware of that either.

I don't know why that would have anything to do with thinners eating away at those parts, though.

    Anyway, thanks for watching!

  • @crapmunky99 "集光樹脂" is the Japanese term meaning glow in the dark resin. I did not know this until watching your video so thank you for this information. Now I feel really stupid painting my MG Unicorn Gundam phycho frame with neon red... :-( This now explains why the resin was reactive to (eaten by) every thinner (acrylic, enamel and Gunze lacquer) I tested...

  • @crapmunky99 yup because my wife knows how to read nihonggo so that's why I only buy kits with clear parts that glows
