THE greatest TV ad of all time -- says the 8-year-old inside of me whose brain waves were irrevocably altered by its brilliance (... yea, I was a bit of a sheltered lad ...)

This is probably the funniest thing I'v ever seen. And it's a COMMERCIAL.
The 1960's were so awesome.

Ha this has to be the best most clever ad, I love old tv.

I love having to do research to get shit from the Simpsons, partly because it reassures me that I'm not some old dinosaur who would have ever seen something like this.

@foxracingg101 - - - I don't know whether this information helps or not, but when I was a kid growing up during the 50s, a popular programs for kids was "Gabby Hayes" starring Gabby Hays, a sidekick to such cowboys as Roy Rogers and others. The program was sponsored by Puffed Wheat and Puffed Rice. At the end of each show you would be looking directly into the barrel of a cannon, and Gabby would say those lines: " the only cereal shot from guns" at which time the cannon fired. Hope this helps.

Whenever I see this commercial, I think of Krusty on the SImpsons when it was still hilarious singing this in his commercial and after it's over, he says "I didn't write any of this crap."

1:02 video: Vesti [No more Rice Krispies commercial], one of three 0:60 operatic commercials created for Kellogg's Rice Krispies in the late 1960s to build new awareness for a well known cereal. Music is a parody of "Vesti la giubba" from the opera Pagliacci by Ruggero Leoncavallo (23 April 1857 – 9 August 1919).

Thanks! It's great to see this again (and the Madam Butterfly one also). What is the third operatic commercial?

The third operatic commercial in the series was based on
The Toreador song from Carmen.
