Lake Erie Speedway Legends Nationals Wreck

Nick Pistone pushes Ryan Ellis (#71) through the turn one fence in their heat in the 2005 INEX Nationals at Lake Erie Speedway. Ellis' car was destroyed and had to start at the back of the "D" main the next day. He went on to finish one spot out of transferring from the B to the A.

So which is Nick Pistone? The green car? In which case yep he was in the wrong, bit unclear without knowing which is which ;-(

@Protechflyer1 yeah Nick is driving the green car. I am in the blue/black/white #71. The race was an inverted start and both he and I were working our way forward...it was a heat race for the nationals. I believe he started last and I was third to last and we were both trying to get to the front when he ran out of patience and apparently, skill.

Looks to me like car 71 had the inside and then moved out broadside into the white car? Now in the racing I and my son have done over the years you hold your racing line around corners ,not head out to the fencing, correct me if I'm wrong.

@Protechflyer1 Look just before that going into the braking zone, the green car made contact with the blue/black/white #71 causing the car to get sideways onto the apron.

@Protechflyer1 You can see the smoke from the rear tire lockup on the green car as well as both cars getting sideways upon impact.

@TigerstarRox yes my bother is Steven. I am the oldest of four from Dan McGarvie. I am Danyel McGarvie and find it very rude that you say "get your facts straight". It was my father and I was not there but I seen the crash seen first hand and I have my facts straight! So for better words (since you young) watch your mouth, and think about what you say!

@TigerstarRox Actually, Dan McGarvie died at the dirt track "Eriez Speedway" nearby. Although he has run at Lake Erie Speedway in the street stocks and compacts before. And no, I don't believe anyone has video of it.

There was a crash at the Lake Erie Speedway in about 2007 where a man died cuz he had a heart attack then crashed. His last name was McGarvie. The only way that I remember that crash is because he was my friend's dad. Is there a video anywhere on Youtube that shows the crash?
