There are 3 sides to every story. Maybe this is true, maybe it isn't. But I remember Obama, without first even getting his facts straights, came to the defense of a black man for breaking into his own house. He attacked the police by accusing them of racism when he was dead wrong. Everyone does it. It's life.

However, when people realized the emmense power the government had wished to obtain after witnessing the passing of the Alien and Sedition Act (1 was repealed, 2 expired, and 1 still exists today), it did not take long for them to put the first Republican, Jefferson, into office.

@xmastershake I agree that the country was founded on values of debate, but the idea of independence and liberty stemmed from the fear and inconvenience that was the oversized British thrown. The first 14 presidents of this country (pre-Constitution/Revolutionar­y War) were chosen once a year by representatives in order to prevent the growth of a single ruling class. Then, they took more power away from the government by giving the people the power to vote. (running out of room)

@Jakepod34 Conservative values are not the same thing as Republican values. Neither party successfully represents their constintuents, they simply want to stay in power for their own sake and please who they need to in order to hold their seat. It is no longer about bettering the country, it is about one party overtaking the other. Whatever your views are, question everybody (party, media, etc.) and only support those that have CLEAR values that you agree with.
