You can do loads of stuff with AR, but as far as the specific things it is used for, you'll notice that in Peach's BtT she pulled like 3 bombs and a beam sword. The chances of that happening randomly are so insanely low that no one would ever base a BtT strat around that, but with AR you can make sure you pull them. Just search YouTube for "ssbm action replay" and you will see loads of cool things.
