This is an interview from December of 1978 of Karen promoting their album "Christmas Portrait" which had been released some months earlier. Karen commentaries before each song is played, so you can hear the story behind it. It is a great interview and I hope that you enjoy it. The radio station that it broadcasted on was KIQQ in Los Angeles.

1. Silent Night
2. Jingle Bells
3. First Snowfall/Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
4. Carol Of The Bells

  • @OceanKingNY I wondered about that too! I know the "Pocahontas" skit was cut from their 1976 special and hasn't been seen ever. I really, really hope it wasn't one of those things destroyed in the ABC storage fire.

  • I just love their song,

"Merry Christmas Darling" My mom and I established many years ago that this is our song to mother and son.

  • This is great! It is so nice to hear Karen talking in her normal non singing voice. She sound like such a very up beat cheerful person. I wish I had known her like you BestKacFan.

  • I had been a huge fan since I was in my country.Karen and I are in the same age bracket.I have all Carpenters albums;name it.I just can't take the truth that she is dead!I hope Richard will respond to this.Great loss!

  • Of "The First Snowfall/Let It Snow," Karen says here, "We used that on the last Christmas special." Interesting. These songs did NOT appear in the special that ABC broadcast, but: Does this mean there's a video version in the vault, that was cut during editing? If so, maybe it'll surface someday.

  • In My Heart She Is Still Making Music. My gosh, I keep asking how I got so lucky to have been friends with her. I can just listen every day.

Karen, you are so missed and loved. Until we meet again, I'll continue to keep my promise to you.

  • I forgot to rate it. Geeze.
