By far "Christmas Day" demonstrates the fullsome frothy depth of Zooey Daschenal's voice. As far as I know, the only other rendition of 'Christmas Day' was recorded by The Beach Boys in a excellent Christmas CD, another must-have cd. I first heard Daschenal's "Christmas Day" rendition in the store. She deliberately recorded the song with some reverb and thus it sounds its best in a large, capacious room where the reverb really makes its effect. It still sounds great in a car stereo.

I didn't think anything could be as insipidly white bread as the Carpenters but this song proved me wrong, which is strange because I sort of like a couple of their other songs. But this one sounds like a 1950s Lawrence Welk number.
