  • I think you do a AMAZING Job, I have learned so much from you. How are these people trying to tell you the professional how to do this...

  • hey A, thanx, everybody has an opinion. mine works for me and has for 25 years.

  • I really don't like the bleach idea.Seems haphazzard and irresponsible. Bleach and any tank do not mix. Rock may look good but to promote this is only asking for trouble-imo.

  • hey I, "haphazard and irresponsible" ? first, these videos are not promotions, they are how I do things in my business, second do you really believe I would 'promote' something dangerous? obviously I am comfortable with it as I've explained in the videos, and this is the way I've been doing it since 1993 when I started aquarium service.... and no I dont like criticism, so remember I have the BLOCK button :)

  • hey do u service a freaswater water tank? for a 30 gallon tank which kind of SW tank would work best. like reef? or something like that im new to SW

  • hey A, as a beginner I would start with a fish only system first

  • Why all you guys hating this dude?

He's an aquarium maintenance guy and most customers could care less if they have a properly sustainable system. They want pretty fish and a super clean, like new looking tank.

  • @inthesump Dude, hes been doing that for the longest time, i recommended this technique and videos to my friends and relatives and they love it and use his techniques!

  • @inthesump bleach is great for cleaning stuff in both fresh and salt water aquariums, Just rinse before use.

  • "The fancy rectal thermometer" LOL. I love your videos, Jim. Thanks so much for all the information you provide.

  • @sofreaking[dumb] I shouldn't even acknowledge your post but, you make claims about his hydrometer yet if you have watched his videos you would know that it is a new one by the looks of it as I believe his was different in his other videos not long ago. Also, he is keeping customers tanks, and not everyone wants a reef tank! I have yet to see your proof of his "jacking" of customers. . . Wise up man!

  • @inthesump If you search the net, you will find tons of facts to back this: "Bleach dissipates quickly, meaning it disappears from the surface it's used on. As long as the bleach has dried completely the surface is safe to use." That said, the bleach used to clean things in our tanks is diluted in water. You soak the stuff with some bleach and then in fresh water then you let it air dry for 24+ hours. I clean my filter socks this way in the washing machine and never had an issue.

  • @sofreakingsad Oh yea, one last thing.. I didnt see Jim promoting himself as LA REEF GUYS! He never claimed to be a reef expert so why would you even mention reefs in an episode about fish. Obviously you have some hidden agenda!

P.S. Didnt your mommy teach you that if you have nothing nice to say, than dont say a thing! Very Sad... So FREAKING SAD!

  • @sofreakingsad As I was saying. 25 years and I have seen plenty of the "other fish guys" and let me tell you. Jim is the farthest thing from a fraud! He is as honest as they come and while he may be old school as some would say, he has always done a great job. Its "so freaking sad" when somebody like Jim spends his time documenting things to help others for nothing in return and a somebody like yourself has to post a bunch of senseless crap. Sofreakingsad, you are the true definition of sad !
