In 1997, a mere 3 months after moving to Nashville, Chad and I were on a tour bus with some of our heroes headed back to Texas to cover Buddy Holly songs. We were asked to be part of Robert Reynolds' of The Mavericks supergroup,The Everydays, performing at a 1997 Buddy Holly Festival in Lubbock, Texas. Besides Robert, the band consisted of Pat DiNizio of The Smithereens, Kim Richey, Bill Lloyd, Mandy Barnett, "Tall" Tom Lewis, Mark W. Winchester, Brent Wilson from the Wagoneers, Jerry Dale McFadden from the Mavericks and Robert's childhood pal Kenny Loveless.

At the end of the video you see Chad and I trying on one of Buddy Holly's coats and posing with his wife María Elena Holly. You also see Robert kissing my sister on the cheek a lot.
