This is a Gaither hymn, called "The Family of God" - The first time I ever heard it was when the choir sang it last sunday, I've been trying to learn it for a day or two now... there's some odd chords in there that I definitely, definitely messed up... but this was my first real attempt and sometimes it helps me figure out tough parts by going on and embarassing myself with the bad versions out here so it motivates me to work the bugs out and re-do it sooner.
Thought that counts.
this was the only good video i found on youtube to help me learn this song.

@21605c When I was a child the baptist church I went to sang it often and had it in thier hymnal. You might try looking into getting ahold of one of them, a baptist hymnal that is. Hope you find it & God bless.

If you only learned this in a couple days time, you could have fooled me. You played this song so beautifully!!! God really blessed you with a talent for playing piano. Thanks for posting such a beautiful piano rendition of "Family of God." My dad, who passed away on April 17th (2011), used to lead this song in church a lot and he played it often on his piano at home. You made my night when I came here to hear this because it reminds me of him. God bless you!

"From the depth of despair, Christ now reigns within. No longer an outcast, redeemed from all sin, From death unto life, from the weak to the strong, I'm not worthy to be here, but, praise God, I belong." God Bless!

I think you have almost mastered the song. Good Job!!! I play this song often and add several runs in the melody and chorus as well. I use this for a call to service when-ever I play a service. The tempo can be adjusted as well to create a different mood to the song as well.

i remember sing the chorus at the end of every church service at my old church. everyone would hold hands across the sanctuary and sing it. it always brings tears to my eyes. my aunt and uncle would always take me to church with them. they have both passed away since and this song tells me i will see them again. i owe my salvation to them because if they hadnt gave their time i would never have gotten saved

this is one of my favorite songs. It really shows us what will happen and what we ought to be.
