This super very easy version of Kenny Roger's The Gambler is a Stage 1 beginner song and only used A, D and E chords! It's not exactly like the record, but it works and it's lots of fun to play for you country fans!

The Justin Guitar Beginners Songbook contains 100 songs specifically structured for beginners and there are 10 songs for each stage of the Beginners Course. See the web site for the beginner lessons and more info including full song list, sample songs and order details. You can also order the book from your local music store!

Taught by Justin Sandercoe.

Full support at the justinguitar web site where you will find hundreds of lessons on a wide range of subjects, and all the scales and chords that you will ever need! There is a great forum too to get help, no matter what the problem.

And it is all totally free, no bull. No sample lessons, no memberships, no free ebook. Just tons of great lessons :)

To get help with this lesson (and for further info and tabs), find the Lesson ID in the video title (like ST-667 or whatever) and then look it up on the Lesson Index page of justinguitar.com

Have fun :)

  • Just got your book today. I ordered it in my local musicstore and the owner was so deeply impressed of your book that he said he ordered some more to sell it there. Your book is now in one of the biggest musicstores in south-germany. By the way... Thank YOU =)

  • @sch0eni awesome, cheers :)

  • Hey justin, first of all thank you for all the amazing work you've done! Over the past few years I've learned alot from your lessons. One request though, some more advanced songs! I understand that a large number of people that come to your site are beginners, but beginners get better! :) Keep up the good work.

  • @MatteoAdrianoS of course I will be doing more advanced stuff, I'm planning an intermediate book at the moment and will be then doing loads of songs from that!! :)

  • @bugio22 both?

  • has anybody ever told you you have a great voice?!! cuz u do....

  • @JustinSandercoeSongs cant wait for the intermediate book!

  • are u irish??

  • Another good lesson using "big" chords, especially A and E, where you can strum all six strings for a full sound. This is a really good country song, mostly because of the lyrics, in my opinion. I actually like the key changes because it helps break the monotony of the tune a bit. In addition, I vary the guitar accompaniment by putting in some bass runs between the chords (a-b-c#-d going up from A to D, or a-g#-f#-e to walk down from A to E or A to E7.) Small bass runs are easy and add a lot.

  • I'm so glad that you are actively updating your site! :D I started playing about a year ago, but that only lasted for about a week x_x but I picked it up again and decided it would be best to start all over again, basically I'm glad you are adding more beginner songs.

  • where do I get Tabs for this song?

  • allways good videos you have man.

  • I can't do it. What is wrong with me? :(

  • @TheRabbit358 1. are u intendin on singin...... is your voice low enough to sing along in d and a. 2. are u good enough at barre chords to play it at fret 6.... this will make it a considerable amount more difficult and tiring on ur left hand but is realisticly achievable with practice. consider these points when deciding how to play. good luck dude!

  • This is actually really funny to listen to. Just how you're adding a, d, and e into the lyrics. You both amused me and taught me in this video. Thanks!
