I found Xandros to be not to my liking. When I read about a bug that causes it to fill the hard drive with junk, I installed Eeebuntu. Xandros certainly boots up and runs much quicker than either Eeebuntu or WinXP, but as far as usability goes, I prefer the other OSes.

I have had a 701 with Xandros for a while now and it is useless,,, Skype doesn't work even with the beta upgrade,, and can webcam will not work in chat.... I'm NOT a progammer just a user.. But i wold think the damn thing should work.

I wish that one were true dude, no Windows virus that can effect Linux, true... But you still have to watch for rootkits in Linux...

lol yea and there is no virus that suports linux so u cant get virus

I never used Xandros (I triple-boot WinXP, Eebuntu & Puppy) but for you to say Linux has no Safe mode is silly. Maybe Xandros Linux doesn't, but every distribution I've tried does.
Also, re-installing is MUCH faster with Linux than Windows, ESPECIALLY if you have the /home directory on a separate partition.

Your comment should read "with windows un-tweaked it is always waiting, waiting and waiting..."
I triple-boot WinXP Pro, Eeebuntu v3 & Puppy Linux v4.3.1 on my Eee 1000 and Puppy is by far the fastest.

xandros sucks...i hate it with a passion
Actually, the eee doesn't have a "traditional" hard drive. It uses a solid state (flash memory) drive.
