Great idea. It is good that you are showing people without sewing machines that sewing can still be fun. Even with my sewing machine, I would have to come up with another way of doing the straps. They would not hold my laptop. I would consider doing something similar, but for something else. You have ended up with a nicely shaped bag, with external pockets. It would take a matter of minutes with a machine.

Cute idea but I'd never use it as a laptop bag unless it was lined, padded, and sewn with a sewing machine.

This would be great if she used a sewing machine to sew up the bottom of the bag. I wouldn't trust a 1000$+ laptop in a handsewn jeans bag.
