A vid on a compact camera of an army of ants hoovering up our leftovers and marching it across the patio to their nest - only to find that it didn't fit. Loads more came to help - then SUDDENLY, they all took off with it round the corner, to their back door, where the space was larger and the crust fitted easily.

Who was in charge? Who organised the march? Who decided to go to the back door? How many ants were there? So many questions, and I'm not an Attenburrow, however you spell it!!

  • Class. I can't fault ants. You don't see them try to put another one down (unless it's from another hive). They work in harmony and efficiently.

  • @stufaman Yep - we could learn a lot from them about how to behave! Thanks for viewing it.

  • Cool.

  • it took a whole lot of serious concentration to keep filmng, I can tell you!!

  • I just wanted to say ty for making this video - my daughter is home schooled and needed to watch ants at work for an assignment. It's winter here now and no ants are out by us so this is much appreciated! Thanks!

  • this is an awesome video, thanks for sharing.

  • That is cool..thanks for sharing!

I'm guessing the small ones are worker ants..what are those 2-4 big ones that appeared now & then? Soldier Ants or rare large workers too?

  • @ontariobuds We got raided by an ant nest. I did find it hard to get rid of them. But no denying how formidable they are. Fortunately, not so many of them were harmed.

  • @stufaman I have a video of ants working together. I lifted up a piece of plastic and exposed their baby ants still in larva stage, at least i think it is larva. anyways they quickly got them underground, dropping the off at the opening of the ant hill, passing them to one another. they are amazing.

  • Ants are so cute!! They are very hard working insects! By the way, your accent is sexy!

  • @Freshacre But there again. The fundimentals of our minds is so different to an ant.

That said, no matter what folks believe in. Wildlife can leave many hints of how life really works.
