  • Amazing. To the untrained eye, this would appear to be some sort of martial arts dance. However, to the inspired aikidoka such as myself, this video demonstrates Aikido at an extremely high-level. For those of you that thinks this is "soft", I encourage you to seek out Aikido and give it a try. At this level, you'd be broken half-way through the first technique. This is serious stuff! His uke's are amazing too! Love it!!!!

  • Very cool..... i like his style. He is perfect in my eyes...

  • Being a humble karateka I'd like to see the defences against fast low kicks to the thighs, straight punches to the body, and straight finger-thrusts. From my perspective the knife-hand strikes of the uke look telegraphed and slow. I am not suggesting that I wouldn't be put away trying karate techniques, but I would have liked to see how he would do it.

  • Master Endo rocks!!

  • @hstaniloff

I agree with you aikido is an art ok i do it to and in the back of my mind i know that in real life it's need to be fast and more violent if you were attacked. But Endo shows the essence of Aikido harmony in mind and body.

  • @hstaniloff this isn't any "serious stuff" because it's not supposed to be. Exquisitely performed as they are, these are purely training moves, with long lines designed to train precision and control. Nobody would be broken half way through any of those even if they had no ukemi. Don't confuse people who aren't familiar with aikido, or they'd be discouraged, since these techniques would not "work" in any real situation.

  • @hstaniloff I totally agree with you on that. There comes a point where you have to learn how to communicate with your partner and keep connection with his center, while both of you are soft and relaxed. It is indeed quite hard!

  • what is this? dance?

  • algum significado ha de ter AIKIDO ITAPETININGA SP BRASIL

  • its funny cause you see some high ranking aikidoka throwing their uke while trying to look tough and strong. Endo Shihan doesn't "try" to do anything. He just does. The beauty in his technique is its softness. He's super efficient. Minimal effort with what would appear to the untrained eye as a disproportionately effective result. Always a treat to watch his demonstrations and seminars.

  • 1:02 increible!!!

  • Endo is without a doubt my biggest idol in the aikido world. his Ki is amazing. he makes it look so easy. brilliant
