From the 1957 film Al Komisariyat Al Fatinat starring bellydancing sisters Ragaa Yousef and Awatef Yousef. In this clip both girls have been out looking for work and have not been successful in finding jobs in spite of being well educated and qualified women. The floating arabic letters in the first part of the clip say "There are no jobs". They both begin to dream...in fact, they have a nightmare in which they found work as nightclub dancers. They wake up quite shaken and frightened because the last thing they want to do is work at a nightclub and Awatef remarks on what a horrible nightmare they just had.
Ragaa Youssef and her sister Awatef were circus performers who began their performing career in the Akef Circus and also in the El Helw Circus as acrobats. Ragaa (the taller of the two in this clip) appeared in many films as an actress and as a dancer. She and her sister Awatef Yousef danced as a duo in several films. However, Awatef retired quite young and Ragaa continued to dance and act on her own and went on to form her own film production company in partnership with her husband.
love it, beautiful costumes and dancing
