I see Mark Shaw around London now and again, he's a shadow of his former self these days. It's a shame, he could've been a huge star.

@sunray1100 Well they can't complain that their relative lack of success was due to insufficient publicity or promotion, - unlike The Durutti Column or Talk Talk, circa Spirit of Eden/Laughing stock - so I can only conclude that the public heard them and just didn't understand what all the fuss was about. Admittedly the general public are appalling judges of quality but I think on this occasion maybe they got it right. I'd be very happy to be proved wrong. What tracks do you suggest I listen to?

@alfa1451968 U2 get on my tits with their pretentious, sanctimonious bullshit. Wish they would stop preaching to the world and just concentrate on their music. Bono does my head in. Then Jerico should have been so much bigger than they were. Their songs have stood the test of time and still sound amazing quarter of a century later. Absolute talent. Not a band on earth that could say they sound like them. Not ONE.

@MisAnnThorpe No. Sorry. Disagree. But then music is a personal taste so nobody is wrong or right. But their songs are pure class. Original. Fresh even today. Talent by the bucket load. It's an absolute travesty Then Jerico never got any further than they did. They should have been massive. Still winds me up when I think about it. What in the name of God went wrong?

Couldn't agree more. They were just about to become massive, then Mark Shaw decides he already is, and leaves. Oh well, at least those who remember them can still enjoy those two excellent albums they made in the '80s.
