The Jr is a much more turnkey robot to play with. It doesn't have the expansion as the Hero-1, but is a little more entertaining to family and friends. By the way, I purchased one long ago that didn't work correctly and fixed it. There are so few parts in these robots that basic electronics knowledge and the service manual can fix the problem.

Good luck finding one. They manufactured very few Jr kits, and the ones that still function are rarer all the time. My poor Hero Jr is falling apart, but can still boot up, move around, and operate his basic sensors. Shame it's in my parent's garage though. I suddenly want to refurbish him. or at least get him some batteries and let him roam around.

It's a shame I didn't buy one back in the 80's. All the robot kits I find now are junk toys. Anyone know where you can get kits similar to these?

This little guy was thermoformed plastic and metal. I haven't seen any thing like it new. Hobbyist are all about humanoids now.

Got anymore of this little guy? Our elementary school had a Hero 1 20 years ago, but I've never seen a Hero Jr. do its stuff... would love to see it do more....thanks!

Thanks for contacting me. I love this bot. Kids think they are cool for sure. I intend to post a video archive of this bot running all of its known programs but that is s ways out. You can buy one of these for $300 to $600. I know two people online that collect/sell them.
