lol normally the wepons are made of either bamboo or a carbonfiber golf shaft with foam and lots of duct tape but it varys, my staff has bamboo, foam,duct tape, electrical tape and stockings on the end :P lol

it really ruins the experience, when people cant learn to act, nor use...non gay swords.

Everyone has their own levels of roleplay they are willing to do. This will define how much an individual person will act out during a battle.
The game system and weapon construction is designed for safety, thus we use foam. While it is not a real sword we can have fun and enjoy ourselves without the risk of real death. Our combat techniques have evolved around the rules system and technology used in our weapons. In some ways this is similar to historic evolution of weapons and combat.
