Dollar store laser pointer on top of tripod, bounces off window, captured by optical sensor, fed into recorder via 1/4". This is my first "successful" test, but the noise is just outrageous. Used many layers of noise reduction and normalization + a small amount of dynamics.

  • So the laser picks up the vibrations in the glass created by the kit, right?

    Interesting concept. Original!

  • Yep, that simple. Eventually I will try another one with a smaller sensor that more closely matches the size of the laser beam. After that...I guess I start looking for a more powerful "Laser". Will probably also try using a larger window for more modulation.
