Splendid from both, though it's too bad that the wobble and occasional tuning issues had begun to appear in Bev's voice. I heard her a lot in those years, and she was a fine singing actress.

Those were the glorious days of the New York City Opera. Sills, Cruz Romo, Neblet,
Wise , among sopranos, Domiongo, Carreras, Molese, Di Giuseppe, Montane, Theyard (tenors), Quilico, Fredericks, Cossa (baritones) and many others. Those days the MET had the company of fantastic young singers few meters away and many time better performances

Stuartlou, to reply to your comment about Michele Molese's outburst onstge labasting the critics....... He was 100 % correct and just to back him up Beverly too was not an afficianado of the critics either. She maintained that they should be fluent in at least one foreign language and be proficient in playing a musical instrument BEFORE they could become critics. What a wise lady Beverly was indeed!
