The Princess Range and Franklin River. Southwest Tasmania

The Princess Range lies parallel to the lower Franklin River in Tasmania's rugged Wild Rivers National Park. This ancient land of deep gorges, ancient forests, caves and rivers was nearly lost to a hyrdo electic scheme. John Mclaine seen in this clip was one of many arrested for protesting at the dam site. He was not jailed but ordered not to hide, loiter or secrete himself in the Southwest. 22 years later he is still doing all three.
