"TRAGEDY" by Thomas Wayne & The Delons was recorded on the Fernwood Records label in 1959. Thomas was born Thomas Wayne Perkins in Batesville, Mississippi in 1940 & sadly passed away in an automobile accident in 1971. He was just 31 years of age. Scotty Moore, Elvis' guitarist, produced this song. TRAGEDY is a slow ballad, with great lyrics, & even better vocals. "You've Gone From Me....Tragedy" . A haunting song. He recorded an additional version of the song in approx. 1962. The version posted here, does have strings included, where the original Fernwood Records copy doesn't , I have eight copies of that version, so I know, but this isn't the 1962 recording either. Possibly an alternate take from 1959.
