  • where can i get one of those qr skewer things to keep my BB tool on? what are they called?

  • @92mattstewart park skw-1

  • i recently got a bmx bike off a previous owner, but the cranks need to be replaced, problem tho, the truvativ isis bottom bracket it stripped completely on one side (as in the splines are worn away)

    solution or throw away?

  • @rustyoneone are you talking about the removal splines for the bb? if yes, you can remove the other side to relieve tension then you are half way there. spray some penetrating oil and try a variety of things. pipe wrench with good teeth. air hammer and chisel to spin it out. hand chisel and hammer. if the axle or crank splines are stripped then throw it out or use retaining compound for temporary repair

  • you said to use a dime if you have the regular square taper crank puller?

  • @icbotor you can in a pinch but the dime may deform and get stuck if the crank is on real good. if the spindle is hollow then it wont be too hard to punch out the deformed dime if it gets stuck

  • youtube rocks - oops - reptilezs rocks. Over a year and a half from posting and I'm stokes with the info. My problems are fixed - dammit - my problems have a solution. Now I need a Shimano shim for my park tool (can't hurt to have one on hand). I'm gonna get you bottom bracket. SOON. All yeah sweet vid and thanks

  • can you tell me what kind of tool you used for the BB? i have a euro bb that i cant find a tool for. it has 8 notches on the outer circumference

  • @reptilezs Yeah, I have a stuck dime... I even doubled it up with 2 dimes just in case and it still got jammed in there. Be careful if using dimes.
