Coastal erosion obvious as the waves wash Serendipity's feet. This house was featured in the movie "Nights in Rodanthe".

  • What road in Rodanthe to you take to get to this house I have always wanted to see it.

  • Take HWY 12 South from Nags Head, NC(about 25miles). Serendipity is on HWY 12 and is the first house on the left as you enter Rodanthe. The coastal area north of the house is part of the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, thus explaining the beautiful, unpopulated beach.

  • isn't that quite magical?

    "Serendipity"..

    nights in Rodanthe.. *sigh*

  • yes the house is still standing

  • I grew up in a small town in NC. I couldn't believe this house was here. I would love to visit it. A photographer online said the house had fell off the stilts. Do you know if the house is still there??I

  • We visit this area yearly and always wanted to stay in Serendipity BUT it was costly compared to the other ocean front homes. I'm sad that Serendipity is no longer on the rental market. It is quite a beautiful site to come done Highway 12 and then to see this home sitting there right on the beach! 4 yrs ago there was a "moon" tide. The tide was very High that week and the home we were in became an island when the tide came in. The man renting next door to us was fishing off his 2nd story porch!

  • Nice video and beautiful, romantic movie... and where are the horses from the coast??? ;)

    Thanks for the video!

  • Thanks, I have been searching for it. I have seen a lot of houses like that now in the past 3 years in rodanthe, im hoping the government will nourish the beaches soon to keep them.
