  • Wonder who the one person who disliked this video was.

  • What's with the caption?

But at the end it's well said.

  • @tickle2012, its just the automatic captioning that youtube is trying out

  • Lol the closed captions are hilarious, like at 2:03 "business is booming, he's given permission to fuse"

  • @JoRocks7 yeah, I know. It's part of that machine closed captioning thing that youtube is trying out.

  • What is the name of the song towards the end?

  • can you give me the time in the video when the song starts? e.g. 2:40, etc. and ill tell you cuz not too sure what you mean

  • It saddens me to see so many Canadians here feel the need to take shots at Americans to boost themselves. As a Candian that has lived in America for some time now I can tell you what I so love about Americans is their deep sense of exceptionalism and I saw that with Canada after these games. Its about recognizing and celebrating your own accomplishments.

"it does matter, or at least it can. It is important to have a shared history. There is power in the collective experience." Exactlly!!

  • @Jimmy3rdperson Typical response from a butthurt arrogant American. Get your head out of your ass, there was no showboating from Canadians. Just because we didn't rig the games in favor of Americans doesn't mean that it is automatically "controversial".

  • @Jimmy3rdperson

You have absolutely got to be kidding me. How many times in the history of the world has Canada had the chance to cheer for itself? I was there on the streets as well, and there were many American flags being waved. No one was arrested for showing pride, no matter what country they were from. I met people from all over the world who had no problem with our patriotism and joined in with us singing and dancing in the streets. You need to open your eyes buddy.

  • @TonyVisciardi

    Melissa Hollingsworth. Skeleton participant actually.

  • "own the podium"

    "defeat the world"

    "fuck usa"

In addition the heckling of curlers, the poor treatment of visitors on behalf of local law enforcement and the "Canada ONLY" closing ceremonies definitely made these games one of the most controversial. American flag-waving on Granville street was punishable by arrest before the gold medal hockey game. This video simply feeds Canadians the notion that the Vancouver olympics were all about "Canada", not the "world". Quite sad.

  • Who is the Olympian at 1:33-1:38? I believe she was a Luge participant. Any idea?

  • It's true, my experiences during these games changed me. I look for opportunities to cheer for Canada now instead of fretting about "us coming 4th" or not watching to keep my hopes from being crushed.

I've never paid attention or hoped so much until these games, but I'll be right there with them now! It's a corny line but "I BELIEVE" now :P

    Love you Canada~ <3

  • this makes me cry everytime
