straight from Nascar.com

"The winner of the NASCAR race in the Music City is given a Gibson guitar. When Busch got out of his car he took the trophy and smashed it in a style that would make Jimi Hendrix and Pete Townsend proud. Of course, Busch's technique wasn't as polished as those classic rockers. Busch smashed the guitar to the ground three times, but the Les Paul remained largely intact.

Busch says he smashed the guitar because it was something that race car drivers never do. He also said he wanted to share the smashed bits of his guitar with his teammates."

Sam Bass (The guy who painted the Les Paul)
"I'll be honest with you, I was stunned when it happened," Bass said. "But when I went to Victory Lane to take a picture with Kyle, he said there was no disrespect to me, the speedway or the sponsors. He just said he was going to give each one of his guys a piece of the trophy. In the spirit of rock and roll and, as someone who appreciates rock and roll, he put on a show."

  • If it was any other driver but Kyle Busch, nobody would give a damn.

  • He smashed a Les Paul in Nashville in front of the artist who spent hundreds of hours painting it.

That's the same as winning the Stanley Cup in Canada and taking a crap in it while Lord Stanley's family watched.

This guy has no class or honor. He doesn't deserve a Les Paul.

  • If i won that guitar, i would play on it as long as i live. I always wanted a gibson les paul. Well... Kyle Bush destroyed my dream!

  • @mikegokart7

thats because he couldnt smash it like a man

  • Dude what the fuck.. Artists spend years planing and paint that design and u fucking smash it on the ground. At least auction it and give the mone to the less fortunate. Not every one is swimming in 100 s like u mother fucker

  • This guitar was easily worth $10,000 there are many hungry and homeless NASCAR fans. IF he did not want the guitar, he could have auctioned it off and given the money to charity. This guy is a complete douche for doing what he did. Yeah, it was "his" guitar, and I suppose he can do as he likes with his own property, but what a total idiot for doing THAT. Multiple artists and craftsmen devoted big chunks of time out of their lives to create that guitar.

  • Fuck NASCAR. Go support your local drivers at your local tracks instead of giving your money to assholes who smash trophies and don't even work on their own cars.

  • @walliwalibus i never played a decent SG, just cheap epi's, i would like to buy one tho

and i love my les paul thats in all my vids but i wish i could learn to adjust the truss rod myself

  • @Shelbones01 Thats cool. I prefer SG's for slide, Just seems like i can get my fingers between the strings since I don't use a pick when doing slide. Not saying though that they are bad...... They are a piece of musical history, the company that is.

  • @walliwalibus to be fair i would care if anyone smashed a gibson cause i really want one ahaha

  • @Shelbones01 I think he wanted to share it with the team, hahahahaha awesome he would do that. A guitar is a guitar is a guitar. What a prize. Again, wah. mikegokart7 was right, if it was anyone besides Kyle Busch nobody would give a damn, right on there. OOOO a Gibson guitar hand painted, wow what a trophy for a guy who could buy so many of those "handpainted" Gibson guitars.

  • @Gtrx0998 wah!!!! Anything else ya wanna have me watch the video again for.... Dumb enough to smash a Gibson guitar. I tend to disagree. I think many Gibsons have been smashed. And hand painted, well, I see many Handpainted guitars too. And from the guy on the other post about saying hundreds of hours painting it, I totally doubt he took "hundreds of hours." Again, The TV guy expected it, as well as others, so why act shocked. I know why. Its almost racing season. Lil Beotches.
