@barliman2001 Everyone messes up at some point. Even Phil McCann. They are still both brilliant players and you can't say one is better than the other just cause you saw a video of david daws making one mistake. If Phil Mccann had as many videos up as david does I'm positive we would be able to find one mistake. So quit with the competition and just leave it at one of the greatest cornet players!

Being the best cornet player in the world takes more than just hitting every note at the right time at the pitch. It requires control and understanding but also passion and love.

One of the greatest cornet players... yet at 2:01 he slips up very noticeably and does take quite a number of "shortcuts"... compare that to Phil McCann, who has been THE no. 1 cornet player in brass bands for the last forty years!

@jonesy...Greatest Cornet player that ever lived??? Who thinks that? What Top players have you asked? Maurice Murphy played Cornet, as do all of the world's Elite Orchestral Trumpet players. David Daws, whilst being a terrific Cornet player, is not in the same league as those guys. As you said, do your homework. But of course if you knew anything about proper, real world, brass playing, and not the Sally Army's idea of it, I wouldn't have needed to say that.

You may be interested to know that 'this guy' is regarded by many of the great and the good as possibly the greatest cornet player that ever lived. If you think you're the man who can 'let David Daws know' what to do with a cornet, you have just succedded in making an absolute clown of yourself in public. Well done!
If you knew anything about cornet playing you would know who David Daws is. Do your homework before making yourself look ridiculous. Unsupported, nervous sound?!! What a laugh!
