Father cat nursing his son

Here is our magnificent white neutered tom cat Pebbles nursing his own son Rocky - white with blue eyes, not deaf, and as mad as a hatter!!!! Or maybe they both are mad. (We saw the mother give birth to this kitten as we have both the mum and dad cats at home). Pebbles has been nursing him for nearly 8 months now!

Rocky was actually sucking on one of Pebbles' nipples, which grew larger and larger due to the sucking. I don't know if Pebbles actually produced milk, but like human babies, just sucking something is enough to get comfort. Unfortunately Rocky has gone missing, he was a beautiful blue eyed cat, with perfect hearing! I think someone stole him because blue eyed white cats that aren't deaf are really rare, I hope he has found a good home and is loved. The dad is still with us, though happily.

heh the same thing happened with my cats. my cat Codey became ill when he was 5 weeks old and had to be seperated from the litter so the others wouldn't get sick. He ended up becoming super attached to his dad Sandy, so much so that he started nursing on him even when he was allowed to nurse on the mom again.

My dad nursed me until I was 16. I think I turned out OK.

I think "nursing" means the baby cat is just going threw the motions. My cat is a 1+ year, and she still "nurses" on a blanket i have.

Well, males actually can produce milk if they are stimulated for a period of time. Even humans can. It is a freaky thought, but totally possible. X3

don't you think that's a little long for a MALE cat to be nursing another cat. Oooops sorry did I get that wrong. Wasn't that supposed to be female. LOL so funny!

@NeolovesTrinity My little male dog once nursed and cared for a baby squirrel. He was very proud of his baby. I think, like humans some male animals are extremely nurturing.
