Let me share a little insight with you about this performance, as someone who was behind the scenes in all of this. If they sounded unrehearsed to you its because simply they were not able to practice or even sound check that whole day because of time. They were just thrown up there. and If you will notice in the video Tim didn't even have his mic because the idiot sound men forgot to give it to him, not to mention mike wasn't even on. This was a first on stage for them in 20 years exactly.

wow, this absolutely SUCKS. First of all, to start the video off, Jeff Easter is being a completely annoying idiot screaming their name. BTW folks, this isn't the current Gold City, and even though this is the group that made it famous as Gold City, if I were in the current group, I would be offended that these guys were referred to as Gold City.

Ivan is SO off on this video, that I wanted to kill myself watching it. Even Brian Free is flat as hell. This stuff seriously SUCKS. Wow. Lame.

i cup my hand over my ear sometimes. yes yall are right. you have to blend with everyone. if you had a set of pipes like Tim and didnt get the pitch right you would over power every one else. its really hard to tell when you go really low if your in pitch (ear piece or not) so yes bass singers cup their ears

@Hawkeye315 You are correct but there is 1 morereason as well. The other reason to cup the ears is to pitch to the other singers. Even the best and has bad tones and cupping the ear even with the in ear monitors working right.

@TheDingoes8mybaby He's not covering his ears...he's cupping his hands over his ears to hear himself. Deep notes get lost with all the other higher singers and instruments. Bass vocalists will do that a lot, even with in ear monitors, and from what I could tell, Tim wasn't wearing any in-ears.

i was part of a gospel quartet and sang when i get carried away as the first song (i was the tenor) after not being part of that quartet for about 5 months the group had come to sing at the church and i was singing along with my pastor who replaced me. Little did i know the original tenor was sitting right behind me and said you should be up there. ;) little did he know i sang with them for about 4 months Hahaha

this lineup should make a new cd. it's amazing that after all of those years of not singing together they can go up on stage and sound tighter than many of the new groups. man what if they actually practice? lol
