Congressman Virgil Goode explains to a group of UVA College Republican his views on the FairTax. Specifically, the cost that "non-traditional" families, poor children, immigrants, and minorities have on the American economy.
He suggests that the administrative costs associated with supporting children in these "non-traditional" families is too much for us to carry and cutting these breaks would give our country a "huge" boost in revenue.
This is a total misrepresentation of Virgil Goode and the Fair Tax HR 25. Virgil was trying explain the Prebate provision in the Fair Tax Plan which pays every legal U.S. citizen and family up to the poverty level and lifts citizens from non-tradition families out of poverty. The increased revenue is from the 13 trillion dollars currently parked offshore in foreign bank accounts. Watch closely, this video is a total hack job of edited clips, and the author should be ashamed!
