Male gorilla Richard roars!

He charged with a big roar and slammed the glass..something, maybe the flapping zoo map the kid was holding, seemed to set him off..damn big noise ! the other gorillas mill around looking..

why can't the people be invisible to the animals? surely it would be less stressful for the animals that way? love gorillas, all primates actually.

@FrankioloDiddlyDee Some zoos do exactly that and have various different methods for screening...depends on the animals' temperament. Richard, the silver back here, is a pretty placid male and often seems to like watching the zoo visitors, so Prague zoo haven't deemed it neccessary. I've been watching this group for some years and he rarely bangs the glass.

I like this video cause it is shot from the gorilla's point of view, I don't think I would want to be on display for people to look at through glass every day.

I hate that the kid is more interested in reading the brochure then the gorilla WALKING RIGHT UP TO HIM! I mean seriously, is that piece of paper is really more interesting then the gorilla?
