What you say about patton is absurd bullshit. Nobody ever listens to his work and thinks bob dylan, suckmother on the other hand, everybody can overtly tell what they are trying to copy, otherwise this would not be in discussion. Mr. bungle sounds like nothing any other band has done, otherwise people would be discussing it ad nauseam, and rightly so. And the fact that most bands suck today just reinforces how easy it is for shit like suckmother to become famous.

@brainboob Crappy cover band? look around you, every so called artist or band in todays mass media is all crap. They're either all screamo bands, attention grabbing pop stars, or auto tuned rappers. The reason I listen to Wolfmother is because I want to seek out something that atleast reminds a bit of what music used to be like back then (which was better in my opinion). Oh and by the way, almost half of Patton's catalog is entirely covers ranging from Peaches and Herb to Bob Dylan.

That's what bars are for, to go see crappy cover bands. The fact that they became famous just shows clearly the travesty of the music scene right now, or popular media in general. I mean shows like jersey shore have the highest ratings. Obviously some mass psychosis is occurring whereby people think shit is gold. I guess you're way older than me, but I do like led zepplin, nostaglia? No, but I dont see how nostalgic people wouldn't seek out zepplin over crappy cover bands.

@brainboob I respect your opinion, but has it ever occured to you that maybe people like Led Zeppelin cover bands, not that wolfmother is one in a general sense. Listening to Wolfmother is like listening to a whole decade of music wrapped into one, almost as if the listener went back in time and felt like he was actually listening to Zeppelin. Thats why I relate more to WM than patton's music, because WM brings that nostalgic feeling of a time when music was alot simpler.

Has it occurred to you that a certain breed of artist will concur on what the nature of real art is? Let's put it this way, there's people who can paint the mona lisa, or a pretty good replica of it, does it make them original artists? Not really. Somebody like HR giger, or alex grey, or kandinsky, there you have art, from the guts of the artist. Analogous to this is mike pattons music, straight from the guts, whereas wolfmothers is straight from a led zepplin cover band.

@brainboob You see that's the problem with many people coming onto wolfmother videos. They always agree with what Mike Patton says, almost as if they can't make up their own opinions. I bet if you heard wolfmother first, then saw the video of mike patton talking about them, then maybe you won't be so negative towards them. If patton said that jumping off a bridge is cool, then there would most likely be idiots out there doing it. So please, leave WM videos alone and let us watch in peace.
