The Norther Pole is within 1% of normal and the South pole has more ice than normal. So... whats up with that AL?

@WOLFMANKAYLDOTNET 99% of scientists may not quite agree with Al Gore. But 99% agree than the global warming we are now experiencing is man made. That is a fact, a 100% concrete fact. These fucksters at FOX news will do anything to undermine the scientific truth of what is actually happening.

The criticism of the IPCC is that's it's way too conservative in interpreting the data it already has, even to the extent of data exclusion. As for politics, ANYTHING anyone says on the subject today is politics, including your own beliefs. Now who do YOU believe...the Koch Brothers, billionaire oilmen...or ALL the world's Academies of Sciences, who say the anthropogenic climate change is for REAL?

The way to think of the so called "disagreements", is to imagine a ballpark, with different colored seats, and different climate scientists sitting in different seats. Note however, as they speak among themselves, they are all sitting in the SAME ballpark called Anthropogenic Climate Change. Dr. Richard Alley, not me, explained it thus. His exact quote: "Almost no climate scientist sits outside this stadium.".

Dr. Richard Alley had a part in the flawed IPCC reports. He is at least consistent, but he's wrong.

His statement you quoted is an insult to the intellect, and some translation is needed:

"..almost no one..":

Almost no one amongst those that agree with the IPCC position on climate change.

Those that do NOT agree with the IPCC are no longer "qualified".

With respect, this is what happens when the scientific method is politicized.

Amongst other things I found that lo and behold the alleged scientific "consensus" is a fabrication. There is no such thing.

Also: I do not understand your reference to 'media outlets'. Please explain.

@AshtonPhoto You need to read and get the facts straight. Oceans were as much as 250 feet  higher many times in earth history. If you only want to go back a few thousand years then you are correct...but earth history is billions of years old....not a few hundred.

I have read enough to put to rest any doubt in my mind.

At one time the world was much warmer than it is today. The ice caps DID NOT melt. The polar bears DID NOT die out.

Then it got colder, so much so Londoners held 'ice fairs' on the River Thames. In the 1800s the world warmed up again. **All by itself** sir, without man doing anything.

In the 70s these 'experts' warned of a coming ice age, now they're saying the exact opposite.

@AshtonPhoto....I spoke Dr. Richard Alley, the Penn State Greenland ice core scientist and member of the US Academy of Sciences. He will tell you that today that among the planet's qualified climate scientists that "there's almost no one" who opposes anthropogenic climate change. As well, of the planet's Academies of Sciences, there is not even one, who disagree. No one. It's the media outlets, who believe the earth is 6,000 years old, who presume to preach to the scientists.
