http://FWHIhelicopters.com AVOID DYNAMIC ROLLOVER, "Experienced pilots roll these things over from not using a good two step process!" This you should be using as a student pilot, new pilot, and throught your Helicopter Career. You should be lifting the helicopter in a two step process. Step one is to get the aircraft light on the skids, pause and neutralize Helicopter Controls. Feel what the nose of the helicopter is going to do. When you are ready gently lift the helicopter into the air.
I will never forget one of my first Instructors telling me that! He stated you have to use a good two step process every time you go to lift to a hover!
I have now been flying helicopters for 15 years! I still talk myself through the two step process even when I am by myself in the aircraft!
Even if its just in my head, I still do it.
I have seen some videos of dynamic rollover and it is amazing how fast they end up on their side! Boom, it's over! Helicopter wrecked and leaving the Helicopter Pilot dazed and confused!
It is easy to get in a big hurry and forget these two simple steps. If you find yourself doing this, STOP! Lower the collective and start over!
Number 1 - Get the aircraft light on the skids, pause, then neutralize all movements!
Number 2 - When you are ready, gently lift the helicopter in the air
Your very welcome!
