You are right.. She's doing it in a wrong way..
I was like that when I first started to workout out.
And then I found this famous workout site:

If you're doing a rollout properly, you won't have the extension in your lower back, keep your lower spine as neutral as possible - that's the way you're activating and getting the core to do some really hard ass work!
