Rasciesa Funicular

Smooth ride on the new Rasciesa Funicular (or "standseilbahn") from Ortisei to the meadows of the Raschötzalm in the Italian Dolomites. This funicular replaced an old single seat chairlift. I'm a little nostalgic for that old chairlift... It used to take about 40 minutes to ride up on that lift, but it was quite peaceful sitting there...just you, the trees, the birdsong and the Dolomites all around. Now it's a fast ride with a bunch of other people, but it's still fun and the surrounding mountains are still their same old magnificent self!
